For his 30th year in music, guitarist, composer and producer Şevket Akıncı had assembled a 21 piece band to give a once in lifetime concert at Borusan Müzik Evi in İstanbul. This album is a recording of this energetic band who mixes visceral power with meticulous discipline. Akıncı’s postmodern pieces mix prewritten parts with directed improvisations, experimentalism with minimalism, they are a kind of summary of all the styles that has inspired him throughout his career. In this extraordinary performance you can hear the influences of, Charles Mingus, Steve Reich, and Ennio Morricone.
